The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County Marine Program is holding a shellfish farming workshop on Saturday, March 2nd at the Riverhead Free Library (330 Court Street, Riverhead, NY 11901).
A session for permit application assistance will be held between 11AM and noon. We will go through state and federal permit applications to grow shellfish with the help of state and federal officials.
The main session will start at noon, with talks on shellfish marketing and the biology and control of shellfish pests and predators such as mud blister worms, boring sponge and oyster drills. This session will run until 3PM.
